I had a mixed experience at the resort. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the mountains and a nice clean atmosphere. However, I found the service to be somewhat lacking at times, especially during organized activities for the kids. The rooms were great, but there were a few maintenance issues that dampened the experience. Overall, the value for money is decent, but improvements in service and dining variety could enhance the stay.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were very spacious and clean, featuring a nice balcony with a view of the swimming pool and mountains. However, there's no air conditioning, which could be uncomfortable during warmer days.
Service
6.0
Service was friendly overall, but sometimes felt inefficient, especially when it came to organizing activities for kids. We faced issues with communication that left us feeling a bit rushed during our experiences.
Location
9.0
The resort is beautifully situated on the Piekenierskloof mountain pass, offering peaceful views of the valley and a tranquil atmosphere, though it can feel remote at times.
Dining
7.0
The food was generous and tasty, but the selection could have been better, especially for breakfasts. It would be nice to have a wider variety on the menu.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities include lovely indoor and outdoor pools, but the pool can get crowded since it serves both the hotel and chalets. The games room was quite small and not very inviting.

My stay at the resort was truly memorable. The grounds were pristine, and the swimming pool was clean and inviting. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, making it a great option for families, while the dining experience was enjoyable with a wide variety of healthy food options. Although I loved the overall ambiance, I noticed it could get a bit crowded during check-in times, which was a slight downside.

Our stay was delightful, especially for our toddler who enjoyed the amazing entertainment options. The room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and mountains, which added to the overall relaxing experience. While the service was generally friendly, there were some minor hiccups, especially regarding the TV channels. Overall, the resort is a great family-friendly getaway nestled in nature, but it may need some improvements in specific areas.

The room was clean and spacious with modern furniture, and the balcony view of the pool and mountains was stunning. However, there was limited seating for family activities like board games.

The location is fantastic for escaping city life and immersing in nature. It's close to trails for outdoor activities, although the highway noise can be a bit distracting.
Dining

The breakfast options were good with plenty of choices, but I felt some options lacked variety and flavor, which could be enhanced.

The pool area was inviting and well-maintained, making it easy to relax, though direct access from the hotel would make it even better.

Piekenierskloof offers an ideal stay for those looking for spacious, self-catering chalets with amazing views. The staff is really attentive, making the experience great. However, be prepared for thin walls in the chalets, which could lead to disturbances from noisy neighbors.

Rooms

The chalets are very spacious, clean, and well-equipped for self-catering. Each unit has its own braai area with a fantastic view.

My experience at this resort was quite mixed. On one hand, the facilities were enjoyable and the activities for my family made for some memorable moments, but I encountered several issues that detracted from our stay. The service left much to be desired, and certain amenities were lacking or not functioning well. Overall, it had its highlights, but also several disappointments.

Rooms
7.0
The family room was spacious and clean, which I appreciated, although it faced noise issues from the kitchen and shared bathrooms in the mornings.
Service
5.0
The service was a letdown, with staff seeming annoyed at times, and there were several mix-ups regarding services that should have been straightforward.
Location

The resort is located in a beautiful area with plenty of on-site activities, making it convenient for families to spend quality time together.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited, and while the food was good at times, there were issues with consistency, particularly with breakfast items.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities provided various activities for entertainment, including hiking trails and games, which my kids loved, but some amenities like the massage service had lackluster organization.
